Cusco is Travel & Leisure’s favorite city

The city of Cusco continues to amaze and enchant many travelers, as evidenced by the latest edition of the World's Best Awards 2024 survey, organized by the digital media magazine Travel & Leisure, where it was chosen as the favorite city in South America and Central America.

With more than 700 thousand votes from the thousands of people around the world who participated this year, its historical legacy, culinary offer and nightlife were some of the features that voters highlighted for the selection.

"The Imperial City stands out for its history, tradition, culture, culinary heritage and unique experiences. Visitors can explore Inca temples, taste local foods such as cuy (guinea pig) and find a strategic location to visit Machu Picchu," according to the magazine.

Lima, the gastronomic capital of South America, was also one of the cities that made the top 10 list, coming in at number 4 in the same category.
