Begin the day by heading to Soraypampa at 12713 ft.
Hike in the direction of Salkantay Pampa where you will have lunch. Enjoy the great views of Humantay’s snowy peak and a spectacular view of Salkantay later. Late on, arrive at Ichupata (14764 ft.) campsite at around 4 pm.

Ascend very gradually to Incachiriasca Pass (16234 ft.), the highest of the route. Then walk down to Sisaypampa, a flat area from which you can observe the neighboring valleys, then continue towards to Pampacahua Community, located next to an original Inca canal system before finally hiking down to Paucarcancha (10243 ft.).

After going down the Inca trail, reach the community of Huayllabamba, here you will join the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Ascend close to the Patallaqta stream, then continue your way to Km 82, where you will board your transport to Ollantaytambo. Relax and spend the night at your Sacred Valley Hotel.

We will start early in the morning going down the trail hiking for 3 hours until reaching Wiñay Wayna at 8,856 feet. The path goes down to Wiñay Wayna ruins, heading then towards IntiPunku at 9042 feet, the Gate of the Sun, our last pass.
From this spot, Machu Picchu looks dreamlike. You will have your first brief introduction to the citadel late afternoon, as you head down towards your hotel in Aguas Calientes town, to spend a relaxing night.

Today you will uncover the secrets of Machu Picchu during a guided tour of the Incan citadel.
You'll visit the most important parts of the ruins to learn how and why they were constructed. Then you'll depart from Machu Picchu town, and take a train ride to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station you will be met and transferred to your Cuzco hotel.

At Machu Picchu you have the option* to hike to the top of Huayna Picchu for a bird's eye view of the ruins and the valley below.
The steep climb takes about an hour and a half.
