5D Great Inca Trail to Pariacaca

This program includes nature, interaction with local communities and amazing views of the picturesque valleys of Nor-Yauyos National Park, Huancaya and Vica along the way.

You will hike through the great staircase of Pariacaca to Tambo Real and the spectacular Inca Road paved with giant stone slabs.  Along the way, you'll be accompanied by your expert team of local guides, llamas, and a local host who will lead you safely through one of the most exhilarating trekking experiences of your life.

  • Departing from Lima through the coast desert entering the Cañete valley. Here you will begin your way into the Andes, passing through picturesque towns and astonishing views.

  • You will explore the majestic Nor-Yauyos National park visiting the traditional communities and picturesque valleys of Huancaya and Vica. Lunch will be taken at the reserve’s many magnificent waterfalls and lakes. Later on arrive to the community of Tanta, where you will camp for the night and get a chance to meet the llamera who will be trekking with you the following morning.

  • Your first day of trekking will start near the summit of the legendary 4800-meter Portachuelo Pass. Trekking West descend the Grand Inca staircase of Pariacaca. After passing the caves at Cuchimachay, the campsite will be set overlooking Mullucocha Lake, for your first night on the Great Inca Trail.

  • Once you arrive to Tambo Real (an ancient Inca way station) you will have the afternoon to relax and soak in the view. YThe day features approximately 10 kilometers of spectacular Inca road paved with giant rock slabs.

  • Departing the trail by vehicle, you will head towards the village of San Juan de Tantaranche.
