Cultural tours aim to offer travelers the opportunity to take a more authentic look at the life of the local Aymara or Quechua people and to participate in some of the daily activities of the host family.

  • Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel for our first visit of the day to the floating islands of Uros to learn about the lives of the inhabitants of these artificial islands, which are entirely dependent upon the reed beds they live among. Here you will have the opportunity to share with the community and learn about their ancestral local fishing techniques, learn how a reed island is made and you will have the chance to take photos in typical Uros clothing.

After this visit, we will continue by boat to the Taquile island, here we will be greeted by the community in their colourful attire and music.

We will have lunch at the island and will engage in different activitoes with the community: learn how to weave, visit the handcraft market and we will finish visiting the Mulsina Pata viewpoint and learning about the archaelogical remains of the island.

After the visit we will go back to Puno by boat.
